If you are travelling with a family or a large group, you may find interesting activities for all ages. Here’s a list of things you and your group can enjoy in Tbilisi.
Lisi Lake is situated on the hill towards the north-west of city. It’s very easy to get there both by public transport and Taxi. (Compared to other European countries, Taxi is very cheap in Georgia). At Lisi Lake, you may go for a run, rent a bike take a boat, play football or just enjoy one of the most peaceful and family-friendly locations of the city! There’s also a hippodrome nearby, where you can get 1-hour horse rides a horse ride with qualified trainers.
Mtatsminda is the hill you can clearly see from almost every place in Tbilisi. It features a nice theme park and beautiful views of the city. You may go up the hill by a public transport, a Taxi or take a cable car. After strolling around make a stop at the Mtatsminda Park restaurant and give a try to Lagidze water – a Georgian answer to Soda. Chocolate and cream is the best combination.
Turtle Lake is another family-friendly spot of the city located up the hill at Tbilisi’s Vake district. Public transport and Taxi will take you to the Lake but we recommend taking a ropeway and enjoy the view of the Vake Park. Tourist Card will come in handy as the ropeways in Tbilisi work with cards. Go down to the Open Air Musem of Ethnography which is minutes away from the Turtle Lake and take a look at Georgian heritage.
Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful and historic parks of the Tbilisi. Located in the Sololaki district, the park features trees and plants from all continents, including very rare trees from Georgia and other countries. Take tiny bridges, check waterfalls and enjoy the peaceful noise of local birds. The botanical garden is a must-see on all seasons but autumn is especially beautiful as contrasting colors demonstrate ecstatic beauty so unique, you will never ever forget.
There are several malls in Tbilisi, the three biggest ones are Galleria Tbilisi, East Point and Tbilisi Mall. Galleria Tbilisi is located in the city center right at the Freedom Square, however Tbilisi Mall and East Point are at both ends of the city. All of them offer wide range of activities for all family, including shops, cinema, bowling, local and international cafes and et cetera.
